Is a 2001 Ford Lightning pickup faster to sixty than a V6 2013 Mustang?
This follows my earlier theme of being bored and an attempt to not plaster Oppo with seemingly confusing questions.
0-60 mph 5.2 Lightning / 5.1 Mustang

Everything is faster than a 2013 V6 Mustang

That is the first year of the 3.5L V6. Not the boat anchor 4.0.

About the same, a slight edge going to the Mustang.

Ugh. I hope so, because I’ve driven a 2013 V6 mustang and it was terrible.
But I suppose I will side with progress and say no. I do this because I have recently driven another hero car of mine (E30 M3) and been disappointed with how miserably slow and awful it actually is.

Depends on who stops spinning their tires first.

Lightning should be quicker to 60 after a small burnout like that one.

You are correct. They are very close. I really need to do a poll.

Or attacks pedestrians first....

I’d assume the Mustang is faster, but I’d guess they’re pretty close. Cars have been getting ever faster though, so I think the Mustang can pull it off.

Never meet your heroes , especially if they are cars from the ‘70s or ‘80s.

If there is a pedestrian on the road, the mustang gets a +10 boost to it’s speed stat which will reduce its time by a second or so.
...but the Lightning has a .05% chance to evolve into a raptor during the battle. The mustang would certainly lose if that were to happen.

The 3.7 was putting out 305 in 2013. I don’t think the lightning even made over 35 0hp . And I’m gueesing the curb weight fairs on the Mustangs’s favor.

maybe but i can guarantee the Lightning does way better burnouts. My uncle has a tuned cammed one and it will just roast tires like nothing else. Gotta love no weight over the rear :)

I’d bet the Mustang has less. Sure pickups seem like they are light, and relatively speaking they are but the Mustang weighs a lot less.

Yea overal but trucks have not much over the rear axle. Hence the amazing burnouts
